Just 15 minutes from Sacramento Metropolitan Airport, 25 minutes from the Capitol and seconds away from Downtown Woodland, you will find a wonderful dining experience in Morrison’s Upstairs.

Atmosphere – I hope you don’t mind walking up three flights of stairs. I used the elevator. Morrison’s has a pleasant décor, an old-world style with a hunter green flowered wallpaper. Very charming indeed. Sara greeted us and we were quickly guided to our table. From the manager to the busboy, all were most accommodating.

If you have a smaller party (four or less) ask for the tower room upon making reservations. It is a quaint circular room with many windows overlooking the corner of the three floors below. Let us get to the good part – the food.

Take a look at what I smapled below.

What I ate or snagged a bite from my friends:
  • Mushrooms sautéed in butter

  • Calamari – lightly battered

  • A small taste of Mark’s Lovely Five Cheese Soup A taste of Dennis’s Berry and Almond Salad with baby greens topped with blue cheese

  • Sea Bass topped with crab in light cream sauce

  • 12 oz. Lobster Tail with butter

  • Prime Rib with creamed horseradish

  • Beer Battered Prawns with scalloped potatoes.

  • My best friend had their light dinner of Seafood Crepes.

How did I eat all of this after Gastric Bypass Surgery? I had just a taste or two. I wanted three, but I had to leave room for dessert.

Wow!!!
Did I mention the Champagne? We had a wonderful selection from Roederer Estates. What I don’t know about wine can fill a book, but it was the best bubbly to ever grace my tongue. I only had a few sips.

We were offered a selection of desserts, so we chose three, and what a trio of delight it was. Lava Cake with vanilla ice cream, creme brulee and a petite apple-berry crisp that was heavenly.

Some can say we went a bit overboard, but I just think we went all out. Not only was this a restaurant review, but a celebration of our first issue. The waiter was great. Women were always served first, as they should be.

Thanks to the Chefs, I give it four forks.
